OF documents describe the technology of gears and splines (particularly splines), which are not dealt with sufficiently in standards and directives and for which, in the meantime, new knowledge has become available.

FRENCO participates in national and international standard committees and aims at introducing the information, as per the OF documents, into the valid standards. Because of the tediousness of the standardisation work this is a rather lengthy process. As the introduction of ISO 9000 et. seqq. requires uniform regulations, the OF documents were classified into 3 different sections:
| OFL Literature: | Understandable explanations of known facts |
| OFS Descriptions: | Explanations of technical correlations |
| OFD Definitions: | Definitions of unproven conclusions |
